Daniel Avila is a composer for Film, Television and other media. He has scored several short films, documentaries, and commercials. He has worked with world-class composers in Europe on such projects as the trending Netflix Series Elite, Three Days Of Christmas, and the films Hogar, My Brother Chases Dinosaurus and Salir Del Ropero.
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Daniel began his professional musical training at a very young age. As his talent grew, he moved to the United States where he was awarded to study at Berklee College Music as a full-scholarship student together with The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation Scholarship Award.
He scored his first short film at age 19, and since then, he has been actively writing as he’s often been commissioned to write for a variety of works for motion picture media in Boston, Los Angeles, Madrid, and Bogotá.
Besides composing, Daniel is an active guitar player specializing in jazz. At Berklee, he studied with such luminaries as Mick Goodrick, Tim Miller, Billy Kilson, and Ralph Peterson. His guitar playing has also brought him around the world, performing several gigs in New York City, Madrid, Boston, Colombia and beyond.
